Inspired by an off-the-radar island getaway, docking your powerboat at a lakeside convenience store in a tiny tucked-away village, grabbing a few popsicles, then speeding off into a perfect June afternoon, no makeup, no plans, very few mosquito bites, a giant 80’s-style blow-out courtesy of the wind, sipping sparkling water with strawberries and basil on the next dock over at the most mellow kind of open-air, rooftop bar possible, Kelela’s “Rewind” quietly bumping the air around. Everything good and magical happens when the air smells of warmth, water, sunscreen and strawberries.
“Marina” was originally released in little spiked only, big spiked was added for the 2022 mystery bag sale.
